Almost a quarter of 2018 is gone! Before moving ahead, we close up on some new WordPress Plugins worthy of our attention this year. (If you are wondering what are they, you may wish to read our previous post: What Are Plugins?)
WordPress started as just a blogging system, but has evolved to be used as full content management system and so much more through the thousands of plugins and widgets and themes. (WordPress.org)
According to WordPress.org’s statistics, there are close to 43,171 plugins with 1,190,927,776 total downloads to date. With so many tools that allow customization, it is no wonder WordPress takes up a significant market share when it comes to content management systems (CMS).

GoodBye Captcha is now known as WPBruiser. According to their WordPress Plugin Directory description, this Plugin is an anti-spam and security plugin based on algorithms that identify spam bots without any annoying and hard to read captcha images.
If you are a WordPress user, you may have noticed the amount of spam that comes in through the comments. It is tiring to manually check and delete them off the list, and yet if passing on “additional work” such as filling up a Captcha, to readers who genuinely wants to leave comments is your concern, this plugin is perfect!
We like how its algorithm prevents robots from leaving spam, yet remaining completely invisible to the end users.
This straightforward Plugin allows you to integrate social buttons in pages, posts and front page. It is available for popular social media platforms, like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.
We like how this replaces the need for codes to insert a Call-to-Action (CTA) or sharing button. It also gives the statistic for the total number of shares for the post.
Over 1,000 active installs, this Plugin adds a sticky bar at the bottom of your post, showing information on the category, post title, author, time needed to read article, share buttons together with share count, and previous/next post links.
This is a more complicated/informative choice as compared to the previous. We like the fact that albeit the many functionalities, the light clean codes do not slow down the performance of the site. You are allow to meddle with the admin panel to customize each module to your preference too!
In addition, you may also be interested in Twinword Writer. It is a new WordPress Plugin launched this year, an alternative to the original web-based software. Featuring an in-built thesaurus, allowing instant search for synonyms. It is the perfect tool for all blog content creators.
